Hi - are you the vendor?

Translating the text with Google, it says: "I can not say exactly if it works, but makes a good impression on me all parts are stuck and the glass looks good in my opinion. Private sale therefore excluded from exchange and guarantee".

i.e. completely at the purchaser's own risk - also a zero feedback vendor. I'm not at all sure why a "private sale" means that it is "therefore excluded from exchange and guarantee"...

Caveat emptor!

It's bank transfer and no Paypal, I'd be a bit wary then.

Interesting, eBay has forced me to accept paypal as a method for being paid for as long as I can remember? I wonder if this is a German eBay feature?
Trying to get top dollar (reserve not met) for a nixie tube and not even bothering to test it is not really playing the game in my opinion.

I'm a bit suspicious here too... first of all the seller has zero reviews... and only allows bank transfer - which can't be tracked the easy way.

Yes Nick, the text means exactly what you have translated.

I would never purchase an untested CD47 or so, too much of a risk.. :)

The problem with private sale is a german thing, you are required  to specifie that, if you don't do that, the buyer would have the legal right to give the item back in 14 days (for no reason), and for "new" items you give warranty. Its not a bad thing if someone has this sentence on a listing, its just protecting the seller, since germany has a riddicoulus "customer protection" -law.  Alot of german companies don't sell to private people, because they could be sued for alot of reasons...

Please be careful with it, I'm native speaking german, the text is in 'broken' german. Sounds not native.

Cheers,

No i´m not the verdor - i would make an offer ( if i ever have one ) here not ebay.
The german is ok nothing to think about , the germans loose there language ,reading something a student wrote
makes your toenails rolling up.....
As always be careful where and what you buy

I agree with Markus, the German is somewhat gramatically impaired but otherwise fine. Nothing you wouldn't read on any old forum or German mailing list (unfortunately). As for the minimum bid: nobody is forcing anyone to buy this tube, and also it appears used (see the shadows in the third picture).

Cheers
Jens

I've wanted to obtain one of these as a museum piece (ie, non-working with no visible glass damage), but I'm not willing to go quite that high on price.
If anyone has a defective CD47 they are willing to sell for 75USD including shipping, message me.
