Amusing Nl5870 tube listing

I look on ebay now and then to see what's cooking with Nixie tubes.

This is the latest mystery:

The other listings for tubes of the same type are all for a fraction of
the price.

Also, notice the big fat ITAR export warning at the bottom of the
listing. We must not let this technology fall into the wrong hands, or
the shoe bombers will add Nixie tube down-counters to their explosive
footwear!

Perhaps the seller got it directly from a US government surplus sale.
They often have such terms and conditions, including no sales to non-US
citizens. Most electronic parts ARE subject to ITAR BTW. Fortunately
there are general Licences that most "normal" parts in small quantities
fall under.
