I saw that on Dalibor's site.  Very cool.

I expect he will soon be designing VFDs!

I was thinking he would stay with gas-discharge, but allow custom tooling from a .gif file, etc . VFD is a very different beast.
I've seen phosphor-coated novelty bulbs that give other colors, but they have short lifetimes (500 hours typically)

Hi!

That project was more like an escape from repetitive manufacture, a chance to do something different and learn new things :-)

As for the future plans, I am not planning VFDs or other types of tubes, I will strictly focus on gas discharge - there are still so many things to understand. The most important long-term project I am working on is a new tube with flat glass stem. The main focus will be on efficiency of production (= lower price for customer) without cutting corners of quality!
