At the end of the page are links to other pic archives. Guess what, one of them shows lab technician sitting by analyzer side with three Nixie display.

I missed that one! 

There was a TV series in the USA called "The Bionic Man"  Nixies there too!

Those are some fantastic control consoles.  I would kill for one of those.
I bet a lot of the ones that have been modernized with LED displays had Nixies or Mechanical displays originally.
