Hi all,

My Info Server project is finally finished. You can read about it here:
https://angryelectrons.com/clocks/info-server/

It's a GPS-disciplined time server that hands precise time to every clock and device on the network, and also serves live weather, severe-weather alerts, indoor conditions, sun & moon data, news headlines, RSS feeds, and nearby aircraft. Obviously some of the data is of no use for clocks that only display digits, but several of my devices show alphanumeric data. Notifications can be sent by email, or Telegram text message.

Any Nixie or other device can use the Info Server as its time reference by specifying its IP or mDNS address.

To get some real-world feedback, I'd like to offer ten partial parts kits at cost, which covers the cost of the parts plus a portion of the shipping to me.

What's included: the PC board and a programmed processor. Please note this is not a complete kit — just those two items, plus the optional GPS below. Everything else is readily available from the major supply houses. Most of the remaining parts are SMD, but they're straightforward to solder.

Price: $25, plus $12 shipping within the USA by USPS Priority. Shipping elsewhere will be more expensive. PayPal works.

GPS option: the GPS module has to be reflowed rather than hand-soldered, so if you'd rather not tackle that, I can do it for an additional $15.

Cases will be available at some point.

What I'm hoping for in return is feedback — how the product works, and any suggestions for improving the software and the manuals. The firmware updates over the air, so I'm sure there will be improvements to roll out.

I'll have ten kits ready next week. I'd rather not offer more than ten, but we'll see.  If you're interested, please contact me directly rather than replying to the group, so we don't clutter things up.
