WhenI try to play borderlands 3 through Epic Games game mode doesn't turn on, even when the game is playing in full screen... is there any way to get this working and get better performance while playing borderlands 3?

You need to check with the game developer to ensure Borderlands 3 is even compatible with macOS 14.1 Sonoma and your Apple Silicon Mac. Not all games are compatible with Sonoma or an Apple Silicon Mac. Remember many of the games out there were made years ago so there is no guarantee they will still work on current hardware or current versions of macOS.

If you are accessing this game through Steam, then check with Valve and the Steam Community. Check the Borderlands 3 game reviews on Steam and check the Steam game forums as well. That is where you will have the best chance of getting support for a game since there are likely others in your position. On the Apple forums, there may be very few people who are playing or even familiar with Borderlands 3.

Games are not like other apps. You must do your own research to make sure they are compatible with the exact model computer hardware you are using and also the operating system version. A lot of things can affect game compatibility & performance. Research has always been needed when purchasing & playing games although younger people may not be aware of it due to the proliferation of games through the App Store on iPhones & iPads where Apple has some control over them. I just performed a search of the App Store and Borderlands 3 is not shown as an option for macOS which may tell you that it may not be compatible.

Game Mode is not going to make all games work. It is a nice option for getting games not developed for macOS to work, but it will be hit or miss. macOS is not considered a gaming platform. Developers are making games for iOS, Android, Windows, and the major game consoles like XBox, PlayStation, etc. I hope you can find a way to get Borderlands 3 to work.

From a quick online search, it seems Borderlands 3 has had mixed success on macOS since its initial launch. Since Epic is the only source for the macOS version of the game you need to open a support ticket with Epic. It is up to Epic or the Epic Store to help you run the game on its supported platforms.

Like I said, you may find some tips & suggestions by looking at the Borderlands 3 game community & forums related to the macOS platform. I'm sure there will be some people there who are also having similar issues unless there is something unique about your system's configuration. There is a chance the issue could be related to one of dozens of new security features within macOS. Apps should inform you of this, but sometimes it is possible to not notice some notifications alerting you to the need to modify certain security & privacy features.

You may want to test things out by booting into Safe Mode, but I don't know whether this will be supported by the game. If you are running any anti-virus apps, cleaning/optimizer apps, or third party security software, then uninstall them by following the developer's instructions.

Since it has been a month since your initial post here & I'm the only one to respond, it doesn't seem likely anyone here knows anything about Borderlands 3 on macOS, although it seems eight other people are also having an issue as shown with the "Me Too" count. If you do find a solution or anything which helps, please update your thread here so it may help someone else who finds this thread since at least eight others seem interested in an answer.

Borderlands 3 has been developed for Mac and is working on mac silicon. The only thing that is not happening is that when I start the game that game mode recognizes this and kicks in meaning that not all possible resources are allocated to the game which makes it lag a bit.

My question is how to resolve this that my mac recognizes that this indeed is a game I'm playing and that game mode kicks in... Since the platform Epic games is the one launching it it should be clear that this is a game that is being launched...

once again thanks for your reply! I would still like to stress on it that the game does work but it's only the game mode that doesn't start on mac which to me doesn't seem like an epic store thing since they didn't configure this game mode for mac but more an apple issue.

Last week I looked at the borderlands in the fantasy genre, the contested boundaries that have been immortalised by writers. This week I want to look at the borderlands in our own world, and look back into history to find the lands along borders that can be a great place to set a historical novel.

After the Pope proclaimed the first crusade in 1091 with the aim of restoring Christian access to the Holy Land, the battle lines were drawn. Crusade followed crusade and a succession of endless conflicts between the forces of Christendom and Islam. After the fall of Acre in 1291 to Muslim forces, the Roman Catholic Church never really again went close to controlling the region, but the Middle East being a hotbed of contention, in both political, economic, and religious grounds has never truly gone.

For easy loot, if you haven't already done it, I'd start by redeeming every single golden key I could and open a bazillion golden chests. Though, as mentioned in a comment, Golden chests only drop epic (purple) loot, not legendaries.

You can look here for a list of a ton of golden key codes (bottom of page) _2:_Golden_Key (red codes are usually expired, black ones usually works, but not always, try sorting them by date and starting from the most recent)

Otherwise for farming, it depends on what you want, I'd suggest going through a list of legendaries ( -2/Legendary_Weapons here for example, there are many online), finding one you like and farming it. Of course if you do not have any DLC, make sure the enemy that drops it is available in the vanilla game.

On my second playthrough, I got a grenade mod called "Lobbed Bonus Package" from Bewm Boom (the second boss). Apparently both Bewm and Boom can drop it, so it's one of the easier legendary weapons to farm.

Farm bosses like the Warrior (Conference Call shotgun), Boll (Fastball grenade) and Bewm Boom (Bonus Package grenade). I forgot if there's any more enemies that drop legendries, just look on the Borderlands Wiki.
