NeoGeo: 12Mhz 68k, 4Mhz Z80
CPS2: 16Mhz 68k, 8Mhz Z80
The CPS2 video hardware is very different from the NeoGeo, which may
or may not work out better on the DS. And I think the games tend to
be smaller which would help some. QSound is a sample based audio
system, so it shouldn't be too expensive to emulate. But the faster
CPU speed would really hurt. At 12Mhz, the 68k cpu is already the
main bottleneck in NeoDS.
CPS1 has CPU speeds more in line with the NeoGeo, but it looks like it
relies much more on FM audio than the NeoGeo which is bad. Still, I'm
fairly certain it could be done. CPS2 is doable too I think, but it
would probably need a faster cpu core than Cyclone. Anyway, I have no
plans to work on either atm, but I'd be happy to provide help to
anyone who wanted to try. And I *may* decide to try it myself
someday. There are just too many things that I want to work on.
