Neo4j-Spatial to Maven Central - anyone depends on Spatial REST?

Hi all,
we have an issue on eliminating non-maven central dependencies from
Neo4j Spatial, see https://github.com/neo4j/spatial/issues/37

A simple way would be to remove the REST API and thus the dependency
on Neo4j Server, which is an app and thus not deployed to Central.

Is anyone using and depending on the Neo4j Spatial REST API at the moment?

But is this deletion going to be permanent? I mean, are you removing
the Spatial REST API feature forever?

I am thinking of pulling it out into a plugin, so I guess the URLs
will actually remain the same :)
