#1 yes there are, e.g. dshini.net ist written using Neo4j for graph data and mysql for the other data.
#2 what do you mean?
#3 perhaps someone on the list can answer you, otherwise, what is your current architecture/frameworks?
#4 no clustering and replication is only available in enterprise, you can create a standby server that either gets the same data-stream as the main machine or is updated at off-time hours with the current state.

We are using an aproach similar to your idea at our site http://beste-apps.chip.de: Neo4j for relations, MySql for bulk data, Neo4jphp as language binding. We learned quite a lot in the last few months (one thing beeing, that if you start organising your data in a graph, you want to store more data in a graph, so plan ahead in your calculation of storage sizes)

Feel free to contact me at jbernau @chip.de. Not sure if i can help, but always open for a discussion about architecture.

Thanks a lot Jürgen for chiming in.

Would it be possible for you to write a blog post (or series) about your findings and lessons learned I think that would be super-valuable for all of us (the community and the Neo4j devteam).
Perhaps you have an engineering blog site like other companies? That would be awesome.

Cheers

Michael

Hi Jurgen,

Josh Adell (owner of neo4jphp) and I are combining efforts to provide a set of php tools for neo4j ( mainly a http client and a graphdb mapper ).

It would be nice if you can join us to talk about your needs and point of views.

There is a meeting on IRC today at 19h GMT time on #neo4j irc channel.

The current combined repository is at https://github.com/neoxygen

Cheers,

Christophe

Coolio.

Should we announce this for others via
http://www.meetup.com/graphdb-world/ maybe? That way, it's easier to
track maybe.

Cool I would never mind it will trigger such exciting.

We would love to receive from people using php and neo4j the needs they have.
We take as base two of the most popular orms in the php world : propel and doctrine that use two different implementations ( active record abf proxies ). I would like to see people busy with the second one while I will be focused on the first one.

There are a lot of other keypoints to discuss like giving the same funcs entities(nodes) have now in orms to the relationships ( timestampable, sortable,... ).

Cheers,

Christophe
