But for real, I'm in.

Probably.  Got a scratchy throat again, but it seems to be staying at a not terrible level rather than the awfulness you all got to witness last time.

I'm not gonna make it y'all, just heading home now.  Good luck blowing yourselves up without me!

Russ, I really wanted to ask what happened with Kate Marsh...

I couldn't save her and wept about it!  Part of me wants to replay the chapter before I continue, but the other part of me wants to respect that some actions can't be changed.

*hugs*  I also failed. :(  But...yeah...I'd recommend powering through.  The game has a lot more impact that way.  Also, from a meta standpoint, it might help to know that when the game was newer, it was nearly a 50/50 split for save/fail.  I think a lot of people since have gone through knowing the right options to pick, so you feel like extra shit if you look at the stats and see your part of the 20% who suck.
Hold on tight...that's just the first drop on the rollercoaster....

Apologies to everyone else who has no earthly clue what we're talking about.  :)

Yeah I'm not too worried about the %%, but it is interesting to look at.  I just really wanted to stop her.  I'll definitely continue through, but I have a feeling i'll be playing this multiple times.

I can't decide if it's the kind of game I play once, and that's it.  That's my story and there's no changing it.  I am fascinated by all the different directions things can go, though, and all the subtleties I completely missed but have since read about.  I might wait a good long while and then play through it again after I forget some of the details.
The prequel is also good, though you play as Chloe so there's no timey-wimey abilities which makes decisions making...different.  Story isn't quit as good, maybe, but it's just kind of a backdrop for exploring relationships.  There are some great scenes and dialog, and uncovering all the good bits does take some replay (since no rewind).
Anywho, enjoy the rest of it, and I'll check in again in a couple weeks. :D

Do I need to add Life is Strange to my Steam queue?

I liked Firewatch a lot, but Life is Strange struck much more of a chord.  Easily the most thoughtful and thought provoking of any game I've ever played (with a heavy dose of high school nostalgia, to boot).  It took a good week to wrap my head around it after I finished.  And then I went through the prequel, which had a similar, though perhaps less-pronounced effect.   Paul has gotten to experience some fallout from it, for better or worse.  :)

I'd definitely at least give the first episode a shot, since it's free.  But it doesn't really start emotionally battering you until a little later on.

I dispute that you've wrapped your head around it.

Touché :)

I've wrapped my head around why it's hard to wrap my head around it, though.  Maybe.
