General Background on the Hackerspace

Hey all!
I just joined the group, and was wondering what the history of the
hackerspace is. I'm going to try to make up a little pdf of all of the
history that you guys give me, and maybe you guys could repost it for
people that are interested in joining. Basically, I wanna know how you
got your start. Also, what are the rules to joining, what are the
dues, is there a mission statement kinda thing? Etc, Etc... Any
answers would be great.

I don't know how much people are monitoring this group anymore. Check
out http://www.makersalliance.org for the latest information. There
is a mailing list you can sign up for, and some more information about
the group. Welcome aboard!

Looks like something was going on with the VM. It appears to be
working now.
