Froggy -

I read your post about Burning River. Last time I looked there were exactly ZERO operational hackerspaces in NEO. I don't care if there are 1, 2 or 5 - but zero is no good. I reached out to Makers Alliance months ago through your website - no response. I asked around at 2600 meetings and other events about local hackerspace activity - just rumors about this and that but no substance. Perhaps if I'd received a response or there was actually activity on your site we'd already be collaborating. Don't blame us for trying to get something done when it was not apparent that anyone else was even trying. That said, after reading your unpleasant and unjustified post about our efforts - if that is how you feel then I don't see any need/reason for you to attend the meetup on the 12th. My objective is to build a collaborative, friendly and constructive environment - a hackerspace from the bottom up. I have no interest in fighting over nothing...

My thoughts exactly Rick.  I think this is far to early to argue over details.  We are still brainstorming and every idea is an idea we should consider.
Can't wait for the meetup tomorrow.

I think theres a lot of confusion and flames coming from both sides.
At the end of the day, both groups are drawing from the same pool of
potential members. Bad blood between the leadership of each effort
isnt at all productive towards everyones shared goal here: create a
hacketdpace.

I still feel strongly that the leaders of each of these efforts need
to meet face-to-face and talk. Even if the outcome is the realization
that there isnt enough common ground to bring both efforts together,
that outcome should be the result of a constructive dialog, not
misguided mailing list flames.

Ill bring the pizza tommorow, looking forward to meeting folks in
person.
