As many of you are aware, the 19th annual Capital Region AIDSWalk held in Sept 2015 was the last one sponsored by our community through the Community AIDS Partnership of the Capital Region (CAP-CR). While this may have been the final walk that CAP-CR coordinated, it is important to note that their advocacy efforts are not ceasing but simply being focused and aligned with the emerging trends of New York State in regards to the fight to end HIV/AIDS.
We heard from many of you that you would like to see the AIDSWalk continue.
Thus, The Albany Damien Center is seeking feedback on putting on AIDSWalk in the Spring 2017. Through an AIDSWalk-type event, we would like to honor those we all serve and those we lost to AIDS, while providing our community a vehicle to raise needed funds for Damien Center services vital to helping people with AIDS today. AIDSWalk could also serve as a platform for our Ending the Epidemic Efforts here in the Capital Region.
