Does anybody use an air-ride suspension on either a F450 or Dodge 4500 chassis? Has anybody operated out of a chassis with an air-ride and then without an air-ride on either chassis? Did you notice a difference in the ride?

We had 2 used 4wd GMC come in with the 8.1 gas engines. If I had my choice we would of never bought them. Nothing but trouble from the air suspension and alternators. There used for storage now good place for them. Mike Bellinger Guilfoyle EMS Watertown NY

We have two Dodge 4500's & two GMC 4500's with Granning & Link air rides. we use them for making our load heights manageable. I do not have any trucks similar without air ride but I can tell you that the ones with air have their own problems. The Granning uses a set of guides to keep the rear end centered under the frame and they're always getting knocked out, then the truck feels like the back is trying to pass the front but the ride is nice. The Link system still rides like a rock and takes to long to air up.

We have 3 C4500's 2 have the link system (2004 and 2006) the third has a kellderman (2009 and most likely spelled wrong).  These trucks are good when they are all in perfect tune but when they are just a little out they have a horrible ride.  The 2004 has 190,000 miles and the 2006 has 155,000 miles after the first 3 years of fine tuning they were good.  The 2009 (the chassis is an 09 that we had in storage that was built in 2011) has 42,000 miles and it rides better than the link and fills twice as fast as the link.  We had the trucks built with Oasis compressors that are much bigger than stock and had an extra large storage tank installed.  I don't have any experience with these as a conventional suspension.
