Hi there,

I'm currently trying to work out a way to determine synchronous condensor operation of generators through the DISPATCHLOAD>TOTALCLEARED (aimed at determining the dispatch targets for a generator). I'm trying to see if it can be determined through empty values versus targets of 0MW, the theory being if generators are off it would be empty and if running in synch-con operation it would post as 0MW.

The Nemosis data does not have any empty cells, and wanted to ask if that would be due to the way NEMOSIS accesses & posts the data or if that is just how it is posted by AEMO.

Also, what location is the data for NEMOSIS sourced from online?

Thank you in advance for any help!

Kind regards,
Dale Philip.

Just to add another question while I'm here, I've tried accessing SCADA data through DISPATCH_UNIT_SCADA and the SCADA data being accessed is only for random timestamps, it is not outputting all SCADA data values between the desired start/end time. Any ideas what could be wrong there?

I've attempted for 3 different generators and get the same timestamps each time. Here's a screenshot of the csv for two examples:

Thanks,
Dale.

Hi Dale,

I'm not sure about using 0 values to infer  synch-con operation. However, if you want to look at the raw data straight from AEMO its sourced from their NEMWeb portal: https://nemweb.com.au/Data_Archive/Wholesale_Electricity/MMSDM/2020/MMSDM_2020_09/MMSDM_Historical_Data_SQLLoader/DATA/

For some reason I can't see your screenshots. Maybe try sorting the data by time just to double check. Also if you attach a example session file (if your using the GUI), or example code that would help me replicate the issue on my end.

Cheers,
Nick

Hi Nick,

Sorry for not replying to this, sorting the data by time worked; a simple mistake of mine to not check first thing. Also, I decided to move in a different direction for synch condensor information.

I've come with a new problem this time, concerning downloading the FCAS Causer pay data. I wanted to download 5 minutes of data just to explore but run into an error outlined in the screenshot in this google link (since the screenshots didn't work last time directly):
https://drive.google.com/file/d/17TLkF8LxzXX7uT8I5rrH45MthsG3OXds/view?usp=sharing

The table data I attempted to use was FCAS_4_SECOND, with all columns selected and no specific ELEMENTNUMBERS or VARIABLES selected, just to try to get all data in one CSV and have an initial exploratory look before going into it.
Does the FCAS_4_SECOND table need specific elements and variables selected? I was hoping to get a full picture of the data before being more specific with queries.

I'm a UNSW student using this for my undergrad thesis, would be happy to discuss further over teams if that suits you as well.
Kind regards,
Dale.
