Hi!
I have a problem with the mating system in my simulation: I need to avoid selfing of the individuals, or set is very low.
I have tried with mating systems 4 (selfing/hermaphrodites) by setting the selfing rate super low (mating_proportions), and mating systems 6 but both cases result in high rate of selfing of the trees, when I check the pedigree.

All my individuals should be hermaphrodites, as I set
patch_nbfem   { matrix of ind per patch }
patch_nbmal  0

So I want that the females/hermaphrodites mate each other with a very low selfing rate.
I have attached the script of the simulation: is there something wrong there? any input?

I am using Nemoage0.32.3

Thanks!
Camilla

Hi Camilla,
One possible reason for your problem is the population size. If the patches in your population have only 1 reproducer, then selfing is enforced.
I hope that answers your question.
All the best,
Fred
