Why is Nemerle not commonly used?

I recently started working with Nemerle and have found it to be a very convenient language to use. It seems to be like a better version of C#, yet not many people seem to have heard of the language and fewer seem to use it. Are there some kind of disadvantages to Nemerle that I have not yet discovered?  Does anyone know why Nemelre is not commonly used?

Probably not much development going on for it anymore.   At one point, the Jetbrains guys were supposed to be using it for some project, but I don't know what happened to that.
