Greetings All
Following a visit to Eryl's today, we have devised a rearranged plan for
this event, based on the following reasons.
1. The ground is not flat enough to put up tents, tables etc, and there
is far too much work for Eryl to do to achieve a better site in the time
allowed. Nor is there enough time to organise a working bee before the
weekend.
2. The grass is still very long.
3. From the response so far to Eryls camp invitation, not enough
people appear to want to/be able to camp for the Friday and
Saturday.
So, the plan now is as follows:
We will have a low key two day informal gathering at Eryls, with
staying overnight on Saturday optional (either camping or dossing on
mattresses in Eryl's lounge).
People who want to teach members of the group something can still do so
of course. Bring along craft activities that you are working on, and we
can sing, dance, play games and whatever else we fancy.
It will be an opportunity to discuss plans for the year, including the
upcoming Marchfest event, as well as to relax and chat.
If wet we will cook and eat indoors, and perhaps watch a DVD or
something.
In terms of food:
For anyone staying overnight, Eryl will make porridge
Bring lunch food to share
For Saturday night we'll hopefully have tea around a campfire (weather
permitting), and will cook on site. The meal will consist of simple but
tasty camp food, including
a substantial vegetable soup
a meat stew
bread
possibly something done on a spit depending on numbers attending
BYO beverage
(Vegetarians might like to bring something that can be heated in the oven
to supplement the soup)
Dinner ingredients will be purchased for the group, and the cost divided
up amongst attendees at the event.
Please let Eryl know if you plan to attend by
Wednesday 7 March by replying to this email, and indicate
a) if you want to stay overnight on Saturday, and
b) if you want to participate in the evening meal on Saturday night so
there will be enough food for everyone
If anyone coming doesn't know where Eryl lives, please ask and she will
post directions.
Cheers
Mike
