Just a thought that popped into my head while thinking about Canterbury Faire.
How would people like to set themselves a challenge – everyone is to come up with something that they can teach to the rest of the group at our camp at the end of March. It needn’t be scary and complicated, but it must be medieval(ish). Anything from a shoe workshop, to how to braid or how to bake bread or make a medieval pie.
· How to play a game? How to read/speak old/middle English? How to understand heraldic language? How to embroider a tunic? Make a cloak pin? Make a wooden practice sword? How to make a pilgrims satchel? How to make a man/woman’s headscarf? How to make an authentic archery target?
It could be anything. J This would add something fun to the camp and encourage everyone to learn something new.
I thought it might be good for people to have a couple of months to come up with something.
How do people feel about trying this?
Yvonne
