I've spoken to someone I mentioned the other day, David Bowater, and he
can record us at his place (at Tahuna) or he has a mobile unit if we can
find a venue with good acoustics.
He charges $40 an hour for his time. The time we need to record will
depend on how well rehearsed we are. The most efficient way to do
things would be to record the complete songs as a group. I mentioned
that we would want to record the seperate parts afterwards but he says
that may not be necessary. He would be making a stereo recording, and
with the correct mixing, he can make us appear further apart so that the
individual parts would be easy to pick out. He would also do a 'choir
mix' that would make us sound 'normal'.
So, what do people think? We need to know who can make the dates and
what is our budget. I expect we can record within about an hour or two,
as the songs aren't all that long, and there may be some post-processing
to fund afterwards. I quite like the trick with the mixing. It could
save us a lot of recording time if we can use that instead of doing all
the individual parts later ;)
He's available this coming weekend (which may be a bit too soon), or
the next available time is 1st April.
Cheers,
H.
Is there anyone free and interested in taking part?

Sorry I'm away in wellington on that Friday getting visa stuff sorted.
Can you give me contact details for the Garin College K&K request.
Cheers Mike
I'm also a full-time worker and won't be available but if some of you are
work from home or home-schoolers, it might be fun! Is Errol on this admin
list? I thought it might be something she'd be interested in.
Cheers,
