Hi all,

Here is an example of the materials that Pyrologix sends out a couple of weeks before a fuel calibration. Note you cannot access data on the T drive, but the spatial data are shown as maps here. I asked for this example so we could start to inform folks in our region of what they should expect at a calibration if they have not attended one in the past.

Enjoy, and let me know if you have questions,

Megan

Hello everyone,

The Milwaukee fuels calibrations had to be rescheduled due to the government shutdown. Attached are the final agenda and lodging information for each of the fuels calibrations. Please REGISTER so we can plan accordingly. Excited to see you there!

Pyrologix has provided the pre-calibration materials for us all to review. The entire region is combined, so all 3 workshop locations will review the same documents. See the attached PDF for some maps and information, and a link to the FTP site where you can download the data and start looking through it.

Thanks to everyone who attended the workshops! They went amazingly well. Attached are the results of the surveys we handed out for feedback, and images are below!

Howdy folks,

Attached is 1. the updated fuel boxes from Pyrologix incorporating all of the edits made at the workshops and 2. a word document summarizing all of the changes made with some of the rationale and feedback provided at the workshops. I am preparing this document to share with the LANDFIRE fuels team to inform them of the changes we made, that we'd also like to see reflected in the Remap. Whether you were at the workshops or not, please review and contact me if there are any areas for concern.
If you were not at the workshops, please keep in mind that the fuel model assignments were based on estimates of expected fire behavior (we used the Compare 5 fuel model spreadsheet to look at behavior under different conditions). Under Joe Scott's guidance, we did not use the pictures of fuels or vegetation descriptions to make these assignments.
