So recently I bought an oppo Find N Chinese version running on color is 12 and I was wondering if there a way I can change the region to remove some of the bloatware or even flash a us version of color is 12 if there even is one
Hi anyone knows how to check for which region my phone was manufactured? I am using Reno 6 Pro 5G and I have not received any software update since September so I am thinking it could be because this device was meant to be for a different region.
Eventually, intrepid hackers managed to develop unofficial cracks to these region restrictions. (Let me be clear that these are not endorsed or supported by OPPO Digital itself.) The easiest to install were firmware files that defeat the region coding. However, firmware modifications like these inevitably get overwritten whenever the company issues new official firmware updates for bug fixes or additional features.
A more stable and permanent approach is to add a hardware modification that will remain effective even through firmware updates. I purchased a DIY region-free mod kit for the BDP-83 player from JVB Digital. Although the installation required taking the hood off the player and swapping out some cables inside, no soldering was needed. The whole procedure took about ten minutes and was fairly painless. After that, I was successfully able to enter a provided combination of buttons on the remote to switch between Blu-ray regions A, B or C.
Warner, Disney and Universal are almost always region-free, but Fox is adamant about enforcing region codes and Sony can go either way. There are also a great many region-locked discs available from smaller distributors of movies that are unlikely to be released in this country anytime soon.
Network has a few newer blu ray releases that are locked to region B. The Prisoner and Space:1999. Both of those titles have been issued by A&E Home Video here in the US. Not sure if the extras are the same for both.
this is actually great news because region locking 3d titles has stopped me from buying some titles, while others i bought in preparation of modding an oppo sometime later this year and adding yet another player to my stand (UGH!).
Figured out how to enable multiregion on Bluray, that detects region automatically and enables firmware. Catch is that its a very deep hardware modification and probably violates the DMCA but what the hell.
A friend sent me an OPPO BDP 203 Blu Ray DVD player recently from London. Unfortunately it is for EUROPE REGION only
and since I live in Hong Kong I need all regions. I bought an adapter from Gradedexchange in New York but it came with no
Instructions on how to instal it, and I feel it is not the right adapter for an OPPO 203. Any comments or suggestions would
be gratefully accepted.
There are different ways to switch or remove regional codes on DVD players. DVD or Blu-Ray region coding can be removed from your player using a simple remote control code and other types of removal hacks to unlock the player. I just went to put in a R1 DVD into by Oppo which has the more expensive 'Pro' region mod installed and i was shocked to see a message pop up that says 'wrong region' I found the PDF notes and it is supposed to be auto detect for DVD region and BD you press XX and then number 1,2,3. I tried the to region A and did what it says and it self powers off so i think it is changing the BD regionn still. I thought my firmware was out of date so i put the WiFi adapter in and it said there was new firmware and it installed 10XAU-83-1226 is this the latest version?

Does anyone know what the issue may be or has experienced this before? I would hat for the region mod to be not working because i have hardly used the unit and it is not even connected to my TV until when i decided to watch a movie.
I got it working :). I took the top off an looked inside and everything looked ok i thought but i just pressed each connector to make sure it was seated properly and then i noticed that the white connector on the region mod board that has 2 sets or 3? wires coming out of it, looked to be a tiny bit out of the socket, barely obvious but i thought i would just re-connect it and then see what happens. Plugged it all in and now it is back to auto sensing the DVD's again. I think this happened possibly just because i have not used the double sided tape to stick the region mod to the base of the Oppo and it is sort of floating a bit and there may have been some slight stress and combined with the warmth inside the unit has just allowed the nylon connector to just slightly disconnect.
