But if I have to choose any one from these 3 then I would choose Avira Antivirus 2019. The user interface, security, and professionalism of Avira are up to standards. Well, you can download Avira Antivirus 2019 here -> softwarg_com/avira-antivirus-pro-2019-free-download/ free to get to know how to use and secure your PC from threats.

Avira Antivirus Pro is what we consider its basic antivirus solution. It doesn't do much more than the free version in terms of overall protection, but it does include a firewall. This is worth the cost since a firewall helps prevent malware attacks from coming through your network or internet connections. Avira Antivirus Pro has 1-month, 1-year, and 2-year subscription options. The best deal, though, is the 1-year subscription. This starts at $26.99 for a single device, though a five-device option is available. The cost of the month-to-month option starts at $4.99, and $77.99 for 2 years.

The biggest difference between Avira Prime and Internet Security is the number of minimum devices its lowest-priced subscription covered (5 total), its compatibility with mobile devices, and the inclusion of unlimited VPN access. You can choose between its monthly offering of $9.99, $59.99 for a single-year subscription, or $189.99 for 2 years. You do have the option to cover up to 25 devices, but there isn't an in-between offering. You jump from 5 devices straight to 25 with Prime.

The Windows app delivers on the basics. It's easy to use (choose a location, click Connect), performance is reasonable, we couldn't find any DNS leaks, and the kill switch correctly blocked our internet connection when we forcibly dropped the VPN.

AVG has award-winning products that cover internet security, performance optimization, location services, data controls and insights. Plus, online privacy and identity protection for PCs and mobile devices. AVG products and services continuously rated best-in-class by industry experts and third-parties.

Avira Antivirus is a virus scanner that protects internet users against malware attacks. It keeps your identity, money, and personal information safe. Their new anti-ransomware feature stops unknown threats in their tracks.

For each package, you can select the desired number of devices you wish to protect. With Antivirus Pro and Avira Internet Security, you can choose between one, three, or five devices.

You can see the different prices for Avira Pro below, which is the version we tested. If you adjust the number of devices from one to three or five, the price will, of course, increase slightly.

In addition to the free version, called Avira Free Antivirus, there are a number of paid versions. You can purchase Avira Antivirus Pro for $44.99 per year (one device). Avira Internet Security is more comprehensive and offers extra options.

Quite a few password manager utilities offer a free edition, but with significant limitations. For example, you can use RoboForm, Keeper, or NordPass for free, but only if you stick to a single device, with no cross-device syncing. Others limit the number of passwords you can manage, often to a very small number.

That's not how things work with Avira Password Manager. Free users can sync any number of passwords across all their Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS devices. At the free level, Avira handles all the basics of password management, and even offers two-factor authentication, though advanced features like secure sharing and digital inheritance are conspicuously absent. Read our review of the standalone antivirus for full details.

NortonLifeLock thanked me for the information, and said it was removing all instances of that number from its Web properties. The company has yet to explain whether that 500 million number was ever anywhere close to reality, and if so what happened to all those users.

"We contacted all of our users to let them know about our fix to the ProActiv situation this morning," Avira COO Travis Witteveen said in a statement. "The issue only arose on 32bit windows premium, suite and professional products, whom had ProAktiv turned on (by default ProAktiv is a opt-in feature, so the infected base was not the entire base). We do not know the exact number of those impacted, but we are confident we reacted immediately and communicated thoroughly."

The free app will run scans daily, weekly, or monthly. You can also create a custom scan. There are also real-time virus protection scans to scan new files saved to your computer or downloaded from the internet. You have to pay to scan a USB drive. Malware discovered is automatically quarantined. Avira was effective at detecting and stopping malware when we tested it.

You can set up ID monitoring to check your email address for data breaches among your online accounts. The VPN is another defense and includes tracking protection to prevent advertisers from monitoring your online activity and a kill switch to quickly cut off all internet traffic.

The remaining performance features all invoke the separate Avira System Speedup app. This app serves mostly as an advertisement for the commercial System Speedup Pro. A goodly number of its features involve scanning for some variety of performance problems, but withholding the solution unless the user upgrades to Avira Prime or the standalone System Speedup Pro.

Web Protection is a browser-independent component aimed at fending off dangerous websites. Unlike Browser Safety, it works below the browser level, so it could theoretically protect any internet-aware program. In testing, though, it missed real-world dangerous pages that Browser Safety blocked.

Your antivirus or security suite works hard to protect your data, your devices, and your privacy, but its protective aura is strictly local. Once your data heads out into the wilds of the internet, it's vulnerable to sniffing, stealing, and spoofing. A clever hacker could even modify your sensitive communications, perhaps changing the destination for a bank transfer. That's why you need a Virtual Private Network, or VPN. The VPN encrypts your network traffic and routes it through the VPN company's servers. This both protects your internet traffic and hides your actual IP address from the sites you visit.

As noted, Prime users have no bandwidth cap. That’s normal for any commercial VPN, but Avira also doesn’t cap the number of devices you can protect at once. While unlimited devices as a distinguishing feature is becoming more common, most VPNs impose a limit on simultaneous connections, with five being a common value for that limit.

You can choose from over 50 country or city locations, though the number of servers at each location isn’t clear. For all VPN services, the precise number of servers varies, but CyberGhost currently has the most, over 7,000, distributed among 91 countries. At least the Avira VPN’s selection list handily reports the latency measured at each location. Lower latency is especially important for gaming activities, where a slow response can get you fragged.

With the current product line, the VPN is integrated into the main Avira product. Well, until you click the link for Advanced settings. At that point, you see the familiar separate VPN window, tall and narrow. You can adjust those settings, turn the VPN on or off, and make a new country choice (though you don’t get the latency numbers).

I couldn’t test the Call Blocker because the Android device I use isn’t provisioned for cellular calls, but it looks simple enough. You add unwanted numbers to the block list and optionally turn on blocking for spam and scam calls.
