Hi Neks,

When I used genmap to generate a .ma2 file, this message was shown:

jhe@heft-vis2:~/Nek5000/run/FreeInjection_AirHe_Gmsh_Test$ genmap
Input .rea / .re2 name:
fi
 reading fi.re2
Input mesh tolerance (default 0.2):
NOTE: smaller is better, but generous is more forgiving for bad meshes.

 using default value
 reading mesh data ...
Abort: number of elements too large      311860
 change MAXNEL and recompile
 exit status           1

It looks like the number of element exceeds the limitation, how should I change this limitation? Thanks!

Regards!
Jundi

Hi Jundi,

You can change the MAXNEL inside
  Nek5000/tools/maketools

You will need to recompile the genmap with a clean first
I usually do `cd genmap && make clean`  instead of using ./maketools clean to only make clean the genmap.

Hopre this helps,
