Hello everyone!

As you all know the SPS website is a work in progress. But we are
getting closer to finishing! I wanted to inform all of you that the
security features have changed slightly. Your forum logins are also
your website logins. So, remember that your default login information
is as follows:
username: full name (first and last)
password: last name case sensitive

if those do not work, then you have not been registered with the forum
and should do so. Once you register pass a note to Greg or myself and
we'll process the registration and you'll be good to view the website
in all its glory!

All the information on the site is updated and current, so take a look
at all of it. We'll be adding content this month, specifically
changing the outreach section to reflect the work we'll be doing on
the Chladni plate. I'll also try to add content for the Rocket page,
and add a Fusion page.

Those of you conducting research - if you'd like us to put a page on
the site regarding your research that'd be GREAT! Just send us
something, or make a table yourself!

Those of you who are officers - take a look at your corresponding
officer resource pages. If there's something you'd like to see on the
page let me know, OR you can make the page yourself via a table.

That's all I can think of right now. Please try to start using the
website and forums!

Hey guys!

I'm very excited today because I managed to get one of our more
difficult website improvements working! It only affects the officers
though - it allows each officer to post a SPS meeting, AND add or edit
the agenda for that (and any following) meeting. And actually, now
that I'm mentioning it... officers - log in to the site, go to
"Community" and click "Administrative Tools". When you have time,
please stress test everything in this page and get familiar with it.
Please inform me of any problems, no matter how slight (including
aesthetic problems). We have some VERY useful tools there, especially
for you, Narin! (Side Note to Dr. Acioli - you also have
administrative access to the site in case you need it for any reason.
Test away!)

Now to everyone else - Greg and I are moving along with the Chladni
plate. We're trying to have it finished for our next meeting, but
that may or may not happen. At any rate, information regarding that
will be posted in the "Projects" section, along with the Rocket and
Fusion projects. Keep an eye on these pages in the next week as they
WILL be changing. I hope to have the Fusion page up, which will
include information about what IEC fusion is, and hopefully some
bullet point about what we'll be doing.

Again, I'd like to remind you all that if you're conducting research,
or building a project, of any kind... put a little something together
as either a webpage or a simple table. I'll adjust it as needed and
post it onto the site. For example, Mike and Brian have succeeded in
viewing graphite atoms with the STM! As soon as they send them to me
I'll be posting those images and relevant data. Mike and Brian have
also succeeded in making a bubble glow for Sonoluminescence! I'll put
pictures of that up as well.

We've got some great stuff going on this year guys, let's get the
information out there so we can show the other SPS chapters in Chicago
just how lame they really are, compared to us!

Hello again everyone!

More good news on the website front! I have finished the photo
gallery!!! It's located in the 'Community' section under 'Photo
Gallery' (http://neiu-sps.dyndns.org/). Right now it's simply filled
with test images, but take a look and let me know what you think! I
have a few minor aesthetic tweaks to make, but overall the code is
done. Of particular note is that only six images will display per
'page', and unless images are added their page location will be
constant! Essentially that means you'll be able to refer back to the
specific page for an image. As pictures are added, however, those
will be placed in the front of the corresponding gallery. (This may
change, but I'll let you know).

Now that the gallery is done, all we need now are some pictures! I'll
work on getting the images from the google group ported to the site.
But again, if you have ANY images you think interesting please send
them to me! Very soon we will have a feature that will allow you all
to upload your own pictures at will, and they will automatically
appear in the appropriate gallery... but that's not quite finished.

Until next time, take care all!

Mike here,
I'm having problems logging in to the new neiu-sps.dyndns.org
site. I probably just reset my password and forgot it, but I've been
having problems logging in from the beginning.

Steve is working on both your and Dan's login issues. Make sure both
of you check your e-mail for something from Steve.
