I wanted to let you know about a great conference in the Midwest that you and your students may be interested in attending: the 3rd Annual Midwest Astro-Imaging Conference. This year we are not just focusing on taking pretty pictures but have two specialists, Richard Berry and Michael Kran, that will share with our attendees how to capture and provide scientific data. In addition, we are including a number of sessions for beginners.

The 3rd Annual Midwest Astro-Imaging Conference will take place on June 26-27, 2009 in Hoffman Estates, IL and will include:

* Craig Stark - Professor of neuroscience and astrophotography software developer,
  will compare and contrast DSLRs vs Dedicated CCDs for astro-imaging.

* Hap Griffin - DSLR modification expert will explain the benefits and
  challenges of modifying the DSLR's filtering.

* Chris Peterson - Expert imager and meteor tracker will talk about guided imaging.

* Robert Reeves - Author of numerous books on astrophotography will present a Getting Started
  and focusing session for new astrophotographers.

* Alan Friedman - Renowned solar system imager will share some of his tricks and techniques.
