Hi guys!

Greg and I have been trying to drum up staff for Fly Day this fall,
but not enough are able to make the day. So, we're going to have to
cancel it for this season. I think that this past summer and the
current semester have been involved for many of us, and as such it was
difficult to get an event like this coordinated. Now we know that
next time we plan for an event, we need to make decisions as early as
possible to allow time for personal schedule adjustments. However,
that also means we should pitch in if we're able. And if these two
lessons are what we take out of canceling Fly Day, then it's not such
an unfortunate thing:)

In the interest of early awareness of events... remember we want to
host a Science Saturday in April. The date for that event is
Saturday, April 18. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! Regardless of whether we
are working with the other NEIU science programs or not, we'll still
be conducting our Spring Fly Day on this Saturday. Obviously, instead
of focusing on the school, we'll be focused on the community
surrounding the school. So, if anyone has ideas for advertisement
beyond what Science Chicago is providing, contact Greg or present it
at a monthly meeting.

One more brief side note - one of our new SPS members is working on a
project that has potential as either individual research, OR use as a
demonstration for the outreach program. I foresee he might need a
little help, so if anyone is interested in some electronics work with
a heavy focus on electric fields contact either myself or Scott.
Unfortunately, I do not have his contact information, but ask Narin
and he should have it.
