Howie has designed and ordered 200 yard signs to protest this shelter without due process. I have added him and other two leader Jalie and Tingting into mailing list. We got generous donations from neighbors, so there are extra signs to give away. We will let you know when we get signs.

Today we have all heard the news that on Thursday evening the former Hampton Inn on Jericho Tpke was purchased by an investor Mourinho and Moreno to convert the building into a homeless shelter. The shelter will house up to 80 families, most with school age children. The children will have a choice to continue to attend their original schools or to be Jericho students. Of course, they will all choose to become Jericho students.
There was no community vote or gathering for people to have a say.
Such an action is something that would seemingly require approval of tax paying residents of the community. I have communicated with numerous friends, acquaintances and others in the community and nobody seems to have been provided any notice of this action, nor given the opportunity of having any say as to the actions taken.
We are outraged of this process and are adamantly opposed to having this housing project implemented. We wish to have the opportunity to voice our opinions and to have this “decision” reversed. We are quite confident that there will be an overwhelming body of support in opposition to this matter and believe that we have the legal right to express our views.
Please reach out to the following people who are high up in the Nassau County district to STOP this!!! Without your help, the future of our community and children are at stake. We need to flood their inboxes with emails expressing our opposition. The email doesn’t need to be perfect or professional. You just need to voice your opinion.
