REMINDER: Forum tonight on new zoning code plus new handouts

Dear Neighbors,
First: Tonight’s the night! We hope to see you all at the Forum on the New Zoning Code. Julie Davis and I will be discussing the new code with the Chair of the Planning Board, Francoise Carrier and Pam Dunn, Planning Department Project Manager.
Silver Spring Civic Building 7 to 9 pm. Be there!!
Second: I am attaching two documents from Julie, Pat, Jenny Sue and me detailing some of the problems that we see with the proposed new zoning code as it impacts our neighborhoods—the single family neighborhoods zoned R-60 and R-90.
The first is 10 Myths about the Zoning Rewrite and the Planning Board’s draft. The second is the testimony that I will give next Tuesday, June 11th at the County Council.
We took a while to prepare these materials because the subject matter is very complicated, and we have had a difficult time getting the information we need to understand the new code and its impact on our neighborhoods. But here it is.
We have only begun to study the proposed code, and we have already found that it has many adverse impacts on the R-60 and R-90 neighborhoods. You will see for yourself when you read our analysis and look at the proposed code yourself.
