The Planning Board voted last Thursday, May 2nd to transmit the Zoning Rewrite—a whole new zoning code for the entire County—to the Montgomery County Council.
The full Council has scheduled a hearing on the new code for Tuesday, June 11th at 7:30 pm at the Council Office Building. Please sign up to testify to the Council about the new code. Simply call the Council at 240-777-7803 tomorrow during normal business hours and sign up to testify!!!!
The new code raises many serious issues for our neighborhoods and for our quality of life. I will be sending you more information soon. But don’t wait to sign up—do it now!

And while you’re there take a look at the master plan summaries and the proposed new zoning in your neighborhood. There are some big surprises—and most of them are not good ones. You can also pick up a hard copy of the new code at the Planning Board starting tomorrow.
