THANK YOU to the Community Connections Conference planning team, Commissioners Lewis and Roggensack from the NCEC, Cheyenne Brodeen, Christina Kendrick, Jack Whitehurst, Greg Simbeck, Cathy Spann from JACC, Rita Ulrich from NENA, Director Rubedor and all the NCR and City staff who contributed to execution of a valuable conference experience for learning, sharing and growing!

I would like to offer a couple of suggestions and encourage others who attended the Community Connections Conference to do likewise.

1. I mentioned this to NCR staff while at the conference. Could NCR develop an online clearinghouse/sharing page for conference presentation documents and resources? It is nearly impossible for anyone to attend every breakout session. While a photo may say a thousand words, it would be helpful to compile a complete portfolio of breakout session documentation in order to maximize the shared learning for participants and other community residents who were unable to attend.

2. Future consideration. Director Rubedor has spoken about an annual recognition event for city volunteers. Considering tight city budgets, might the City consider blending the conference luncheon with some form of recognition event for city volunteers, boards and commissions volunteers, etc., along with city recognition for neighborhood organizations and community organizations that are high performing and delivering excellent in services? I think doing so would yield synergies in additional networking and relationship building that would pay itself forward in many ways.

I want to personally thank Director Rubedor and event planners for giving an opportunity for NCEC and NRP chairs to participate in the conference opening remarks. And kudos to fellow NCEC commissioners who actively participated in the planning and delivery, as conference presenters, panelists, monitors, volunteers at registration, etc.! From my experience on the City Clerk's panel on city boards and commissions (along with Commissioner Israel), we were able to highlight the NCEC work on boards and commissions diversity task force report recommendations.

I will get the conference photos that I captured as one of the volunteer event photographers to NCR staff. Meanwhile, they were uploaded to Facebook for sharing in the interim:

Thanks again for a successful conference!

Respectfully,

Thanks, Jeff. I like the idea of a clearinghouse or a knowledge-base repository.

I wonder if the speeches were recorded and if it can be shared.

Thank you for your inspiring dedication.
