Not
to long ago a Patriot Guard Rider friend pointed out an observation he
had made. It seemed on the days when we were doing PGR Missions for
fallen heros, he would see a bald eagle - the symbol of our freedom.
When he mentioned that to me, I couldn't disagree. I too had seen bald
eagles either en route to the missions, during the missions, or sometime
during the days of the mission. Fast-forward to today, a day when we
lay my nearly 104-year old grandmother to rest. As I drove home from
work to go to the funeral, I observed not one, but two bald eagles in a
tree. One bald eagle remained perched for photos, while one took flight
quickly. Was it just ironic that I would see bald eagles within an
hour of Olinda's funeral, or was it a sign? How about the fact that we
see eagles before PGR missions. Makes you wonder, doesn't it....
I posted a few pics on my web page - 1/10/13 entry.
