NEHAWU IN THE LIMPOPO PROVINCE TO CONVENES ITS 15^th PROVINCIAL CONGRESS

Wednesday April 28, 2021

The National Education, Health and Allied Workers Union (NEHAWU) in the Limpopo Province will be convening its 15^th Provincial Congress from the 28^th – 30^th April 2021 under the theme “Strengthen workplace organisation, deepen class consciousness and advance internationalism”.

The congress will assess the work of the organisation in the past four years and plan for the next four years including electing a new leadership. Furthermore, the congress will analyse the global balance of forces, the political situation in the country, and the socio-economic realities facing the working class and the poor especially during the COVID-19 pandemic and the crippling effects of austerity measures by the government of the day. 

This afternoon at 14h00 the 2^nd Deputy President of NEHAWU, Comrade Nyameka Macanda, will give the keynote address while fraternal organisation will give messages of support.

Members of the media are invited to attend and cover this workers parliament.

The congress is scheduled as follows:

 

·      Date: 28 – 30 April 2021

 

·      Time : 14h00 on the opening day which is on Wednesday April 28, 2021

 

·      Venue: Protea Hotel, the Ranch, [Between Polokwane and Mokopane on the R101 and N1 Roads].

All COVID19 Protocols have been complied with and will be implemented to the latter until the end of the congress.
