NEHAWU TO HOST AN INTERNATIONAL NURSES DAY SEMINAR TOMORROW AT 10AM

The National Education, Health and Allied Workers’ Union [NEHAWU] as a union organising in the healthcare sector will join millions of nurses across the world in celebrating the International Nurses Day which is celebrated annually on the 12th May. NEHAWU will host a seminar under the theme “Nurses challenges amidst COVID-19”.
The aim of the seminar is to highlight the challenges faced by nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic and offer some solutions. Furthermore, the seminar will pay homage to all frontline workers more especially nurses who are our primary caregivers for their courage and humane service that they render in detecting, testing, quarantining people who are infected by the Coronavirus, treating patients that are infected with COVID-19 and saving lives across the world.
Because of the regulations of the lockdown which prohibits gatherings the seminar will take place via Zoom and Facebook Live which will be streamed live on the NEHAWU Facebook page (NEHAWU AD).
Speakers from the following organisations will address the seminar:
· World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU)
· Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU)
· World Health Organisation (WHO)
· International Labour Organisation (ILO)
