Asterisk or Trixbox?

Hello guys, sorry if I was not around last Aug. 10. I went to cebu
earlier so that I can sleep better and prepare for a test with my
class. I am quite confused here, What will I use. Asterisk or Trixbox?
Sir Randy said that we will use trixbox, I haven't read that far about
asterisk and trixbox. Comments and suggestions please.

Trixbox is a linux distribution which automates the asterisk install giving it a web interface and other functions, on the other hand asterisk is just a piece of software found on the trixbox distro.

Trixbox is for gays and for users who want to make life easy. In order to appreciate VoIP under linux stick with asterisk, learn how to compile / install / configure asterisk, start with the basics.

Hello guys gay diay ko ani, I'll be playing around with asterisk
around but the administration wants it functioning right away so what
I'm going to do is to install trix. Does it mean that asterisk will
run on my choosen linux distro? :-) Havent read so much about it.

Again Trixbox is an automated asterisk, it has the same functions as with asterisk but more automated. Trixbox though is built on CentOS but you can just copy the install script and run it on another distribution.
