Hello Guys,

I been so bothered by this, I can't log in to the Joomla
administrator page in the web host but I can log in the local pc. The
session save path in the web host is unwriteable. Is this the one
thats creating me a problem in logging in?

May the force be with you,

Yes, in my local pc it is enabled. During pre-installation check save
session path=unwriteable. Is the web host be contacted or will I'll be
the one to change this? I use phpmyadmin to back up my tables and
restore it on the web host. Before I restored the tables I can log in
but after restoring all the tables(I tried not including the jos_user)
but it didnt work.

i think you need to try to reinstall and you need that session path to be writable with a chmod 777 or 755

Hi Mykle!

I think I had that problem before, it may not be because of the
unwritable thingy. I think you just overlooked the password part.
Remember that Joomla requires a MySQL database with a user with a
password also, and there is another user which is "admin" in Joomla
and has its own password.

It would be better if I could go in your server so I can see for
myself the phenomenon. I can give you my access too, just email me and
I will reply with my access also. May you force yourself also... :)

I think we may rename our LUG in JUG ehehehehe.... :)

Dax and Danny,

Thanks for the replies and sharing of your experience. My problem is
solved. I just used JoomlaPack to back up everything from the local pc
and then transfer the zip file and install it in the live host.

Should I put the session directory for session path outside the
public_html? Right now, its inside the public_html, I guess this is
not safe. I have set the permission to 755.

Case Solved: Setting up Joomla in Live Host
Pending problem: Session path directory
