I have uploaded the Sinhala and English copies of the Financial statute of the

Western Province Provincial Council which is of utmost importance to all Notaries executing Deeds in the Western Province.

I wish to draw your attention to Sections 78 which deal with Stamp Duty on Deeds.
Section 79 deals with appeals with regard to the assessment of stamp duty.

Since most of the Notaries are concerned about the high penalties on stamp duty arbitrarily imposed by the WPPC  I hope this should help the Notaries.
