Monthly Mass/ Traditional Irish Breakfast Celebrated the first Sunday of each month at 11:00 am. Monthly Mass is followed by a traditional Irish Breakfast for $10.00. This is becoming the most popular activity at the Irish Cultural Centre, our thanks goes out to all the Ladies Auxiliary who continue to be an important part of this success; baking the best scones and Irish Bread around!
Following the Mass and Breakfast at 1PM please join Maureen McNally & Friends for a lively Singing Seisiun! All are welcomed to come and join in on the songs! |
Well, March has just about blown past us – hope you all enjoyed the cultural celebrations on offer around us. I was in Syracuse and Rochester over last weekend, and had the pleasure of 2 drunken orgies – oh, wait, I mean parades!
I though it might be nice to try out this event at the ICC in Canton on April 5th. Please feel free to come for Mass, Breakfast or both. Hopefully the weather will be a bit warmer and any kids that come can play outside on the great big new playground they have.
Let me know if you are interested. If a lot of us end up going, courtesy would suggest a heads-up to the organizers to have a couple of extra rashers on hand!
Sam Adams Brewery Open House: This Thursday March 26th, 5 – 8pm
I have 4 tickets to the open house at the Boston Brewery Complex here in Jamaica Plain, which will feature samples and beer discussions. They are showcasing their seasonal Irish Red Ale at this one. We can’t attend but are happy to pass the tickets along. Just email if you are interested.
Other Ideas:
If you know of upcoming events, are involved in any, or just have some good ideas for ways for us to get together, please let us know or post a message on the google page.
Students Interested in Studying at NUIG:
Finally, please let me know if you are interested in talking to US high school students looking at NUIG for their undergraduate degree. NUIG has a whole new section on the website, www.nuigalway.ie/international/, with the offerings available to North American students and there has been a very favorable response, but lots of students would like to talk directly to NUIG grads in their chosen areas.
Best Wishes!
Julie
