Is there a keyboard shortcut to return to the dialog box you used most recently. Basically I am trying to find a quick and easy way to rerun your most recent analysis if you want to modify the settings and try it again.
I don't think there is a keyboard shortcut, but you can use the red triangle menu on the platform to bring up the launcher, already filled in. Redo launches the platform without a dialog, useful if the data has changed. Relaunch is what you want for changing launch settings. You can then compare the results and close the one you don't want to keep.
This seems awfully basic but here goes. If you are keyboard-oriented you get used to using Command-W to close windows all the time in OS X. I'd like to add that capability to the dialogs I am creating in Interface Builder for my program. I can see how to add a keyboard equivalent to a button action but what if I don't have a button?
So really, it depends on what type of dialog you've got here. If it's non-modal (essentially, if you can access the menu bar while it's running) and is an instance or subclass of NSWindow, then all you need to do is override the windowShouldClose: method in your dialog's delegate (or your dialog class, if you subclassed NSWindow or something) and make it return YES.
However, if the dialog is a modal dialog (you can't access the menu bar, switch windows, etc. while the dialog is running), then you can't do it this way. You could add an invisible button, but in all honesty, a modal dialog should not be closed by hitting Command-W, for that most certainly violates some Apple interface guideline out there. (Especially since, as Ande noted, it's standard practice to have Esc close/cancel a dialog.)
How to disable it please? It behaves buggy when using vmware workstation virtual machines. Randomly appearing on the screen or when minimizing vmware... It would be great if I could disable that dialog.
I appear to be forced to use the mouse to select results as the arrow keys don't do it. Only after moving the cursor to the results part of the dialog window am I able to scroll through results with arrow keys and hit enter to open an item.
When viewing an Open/Save dialog, the system enables the Command-Shift-G keyboard shortcut for allowing the user to enter the desired folder path. This can be used to create a setup with Keyboard Maestro whereby the user is prompted to select a location and that path will then be opened.

Premiere Pro lets you quickly and easily sync keyboard shortcuts between computers using the Sync Settings feature. Using Sync Settings, you can upload the customized keyboard shortcuts from your computer to Creative Cloud. Then, you can sync the keyboard shortcuts from Creative Cloud to any other computer.
Keyboard shortcuts are synchronized for the same platform only, and not between Windows and Mac OS platforms. That is, keyboard shortcuts created for Windows only sync with a Windows computer. Mac OS keyboard shortcuts only sync with a Mac OS computer.
To copy the keyboard shortcuts file to a location on a different computer, copy the .kys file to a removable drive, like a USB thumb drive. Then, copy the .kys file from the removable drive to the appropriate location in the new computer.
To add more shortcuts to a command, click to the right of an existing shortcut. If there is no existing shortcut, click anywhere in the Shortcut column. A new shortcut button is created in which you can type the shortcut.
Many editors like to have a keyboard shortcuts document they can search and refer to. Premiere Pro offers a way to copy and paste keyboard shortcuts into a document, and then print. There are also pages in Help documentation that you can print, or save as a PDF.
Whether you are copy and pasting into a document, printing a PDF, or inspecting the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog box, it is important to note the available commands that are mappable to the keyboard. You can engage in a much more keyboard-driven workflow by adding new keyboard shortcuts.
You can paste the lists of keyboard shortcuts from the Keyboard Customization dialog box into a text document, like a spreadsheet, from which you can print. The advantage of the copy and pasting method is that you can view your customized keyboard shortcuts, as well. If you select Final Cut Pro, Avid Media Composer, or Custom keyboard shortcuts, then those keyboard shortcuts are the ones that are printed.
This will work, for now But maintaining this is hard. Maybe after a while you do not only want to update that dialog, but also another one, or something else, or the function in your dialog will change by name or the number of arguments. Then you would need to go back and edit your tool to also update those, and any other tool that does this.
I would like to be able to interact with dialog/confirmation modals with hotkeys. For example, when I want to delete a note, and I get the confirmation, I want to use the keyboard to continue. Perhaps enter to continue and esc to cancel.
I know when you open a menu that has ok, copy or cancle as an option you can use return for ok and option ok for copy. What is the keyboard shortcut for cancle. I cant find these shortcuts on any list.
In some dialog boxes, try pressing the first letter of the button name. Like if you close an unsaved Illustrator document and it asks you if you want to save, you see the buttons Don't Save, Cancel, and OK. You can press the D key as a shortcut for the Don't Save button.
Thanks for reaching out. Monika and Conrad have already given the right answer, however, you can also take a look at this list of shortcuts. These are quite handy if you prefer using keyboard shortcuts over mouse clicks.
I have no idea why these options do not already have key bindings in the Default (OS).sublime-keymap files. I have opened an issue to have them added to the .sublime-keymap files and to have the commands added to the unofficial documentation but neither of these are likely to be done for quite a while.
The common keyboard shortcut for "cancel" is the Esc key, and it does work with the 2BD. Note that techincally it doesn't trigger the F button, but cancels out of the dialog (similar to if you press the X button or Alt-F4), but the effect is that the output will be F, regardless of what you name the button.
You can access the shortcuts from anywhere in the product by clicking the Help icon in the upper right of the window and selecting Keyboard shortcuts. This opens a dialog of the Keyboard shortcuts list.

The Keyboard Short Cut Actions dialog allows the user to associate a keyboard shortcut to a determined oneline diagram, and even to a particular view of that diagram. When the keyboard shortcut is pressed, the oneline diagram is opened (if it was closed) and brought to the front. When a view is also associated, then the user is taken to such a view.
Many of these commands use the NVDA key. The NVDA key is the insert key found either on the numberpad or near the delete, home, end, page up and page down keys on your keyboard. NVDA can also be configured so that you can use the capslock key as the NVDA key.
If you already know for which command you want to change the keyboard shortcut, then you can use the Search field to enter it. This will shorten the list of possible commands to only those that contain the text you searched for.
When you have found the action you want to set a shortcut for, click on the line that shows the action details. The column Shortcut for that line will change to New accelerator.... GIMP is now waiting for you to use a keyboard shortcut. As soon as you enter a key combination, the shortcut is added to that action. Unless the shortcut you entered was already assigned to another action. In that case it will tell you what action the key combination is used for and ask you what to do. You can either choose to assign the shortcut anyway, or cancel the change.
At the bottom of the dialog there is an option (checked by default) that tells GIMP whether to Save keyboard shortcuts on exit. If enabled, all changed shortcuts will be saved when you quit GIMP. If it is disabled, the shortcuts will only be saved if you used the Save button before closing the dialog.
