FlashGet (formerly JetCar, from the literal translation of the Chinese phrase 快车; Kuàichē) was a freeware download manager for Microsoft Windows. It was originally available in either paid or ad-supported versions, the latter of which included an Internet Explorer Browser Helper Object (BHO).

This extension offers integration with FlashGet download manager. By default the toolbar icon is disabled. In this mode, downloads are handled by the internal download manager. Once the extension is enabled from the toolbar button (when the icon is colorful), then an observer is installed. This observer monitors new downloads and sends requests to FlashGet and cancels the built-in downloads. It is also possible to use right-click over links option to send links to FlashGet without installing the download observer.

flareGet is a full featured, advanced, multi-threaded, multi-segment download manager and accelerator for Linux and Windows with full browser integration with all the browsers - firefox, chrome, opera etc.

But the free version in Ubuntu software center does not support "Browser integration", you need to pay $10 to get browser integration plugin. I guess without browser integration, download manager won't make sense.
