Good afternoon, Etowah Leaders!!
Our April 13th Roundtable is tonight! (District Banquet is next month) It will provide lots of awesome opportunities for growth within the scouting community for all ages. Here are a few of them:
Event: Etowah District Roundtable meeting
Date/Time: Thursday (13th of April) at 7 PM.
Location: Horizon Christian Academy, Address: 1270 Sawnee Drive; Cumming, GA 30040
Purpose: The Roundtable is an awesome opportunity to understand what scouting activities are occurring within the NE Georgia Council and Etowah District (Scout/Merit Badge Advancement opportunities, Adult Training opportunities, District Camping events, etc.). It also provides an opportunity to discuss topics amongst peers that are important to you, your scout(s), and/or your unit.
Breakouts: After opening announcements (approx 20 minutes), the Order of the Arrow, Boy Scout, and Cub Scout breakout sessions will occur to discuss different topics (e.g. this week’s Boy Scout breakout topic is “Planning an Eagle Scout Court of Honor: The do’s, don’ts, and where did that come from?” --- Boy scouts are also encouraged to attend). Note: All breakouts wrap-up by 8:00 PM for Fireside Chat
Fireside Chat: Brian Parker, from the Northeast Georgia Council, will be giving us an update from the Council. This starts at 8 PM tonight. Come out to hear the latest.
Dress Code: BSA Class-A/Field uniform is encouraged, but not required. (Boy Scouts and non-BSA registered leaders are also encouraged to attend)
THE ROUNDTABLE (For All Scout Volunteers)
What Is a Roundtable?
Don’t let the name Roundtable fool you. It isn’t necessarily round, and you don’t need a scout uniform to attend.
It’s a training know-how-show.
It’s the single most important function of the district.
It’s the Scout program in action.
It’s the most effective medium for getting the program to the units.
It’s an information source for leaders.
It’s a meeting where leaders can discuss and share what works -- success stories!
It’s Scout leaders having fun learning.
Are you curious of current topics or want to be more involved within the District? Join us at Roundtable.Other scouting dates/activities to be aware of:
