Get ready for fall!                                

Soon, the leaves will be changing from green to deep red, orange, yellow and purple. Fall is an exciting time in scouting. Whether you are looking forward to getting to know your new scouts, camping and campfire cookouts or learning new skills, there is something for everyone. Here's some information we thought you might find useful.

Everyone loves a volunteer! Click on the "Volunteer Needed" graphics next to the listed events to sign up and help.


 

Cub Scout Corner

 

Adventure Day
October 7
Yahoola Creek Park, Dahlonega

Earn adventure badges in one day.

Instructors Needed:

  • Hiking (need 3)
  • Into the Woods (trees & plants)
  • Movie Making
  • Tigers Safe & Smart
  • Game Design

Fall Family
Camping

October 13-15
Scoutland, Gainesville

Round up your Pack and go camping at beautiful Scoutland. Experience the heart of Scouting with fellowship, food, and fun.

Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Parking (3 people needed)
  • Campfire MC (Saturday p.m.)
  • Wood for campfire
  • Gator for hauling gear to sites
  • Shooting sports instructors (2 needed)
  • Adult leader or Boy Scout to do Scouts Own (Sunday)
  • Someone to lead 2 guided hikes (am & pm)
  • Someone to lead sports in field

Outdoor Webelos Leader Skills

54 Reeves Road, Dawsonville

This course teaches outdoor related skills through demonstration and hands-on practice. Webelos den leaders should attend this training before conducting Webelos overnight camping with the boys and parents of the den.

Expanding on concepts introduced in Scoutmaster Position Specific Training, this hands-on course gives adult leaders a practical introduction to the patrol method of a boy-led troop.
