PPBC/FinCom interaction

Regarding PPBC, Rick Zimbone has volunteered to be the FinCom's liaison with the PPBC, at least for this fiscal year, FY09.  This has not been a formal FinCom role in the past -- we'll see what happens with it this year.

Rick will attend PPBC meetings when he can, will provide FinCom as a whole with updates on PPBC activities, and will make PPBC aware of any concerns FinCom may have on given PPBC projects.

I know several other FinCom members have attended PPBC meetings this past Spring.  Rick's performing this role should in no way dissuade you from continuing to attend, should you find the PPBC interesting, so long as we don't outnumber the PPBC at their own meeting. :-)  No doubt Rick will from time to time run into a conflict and be grateful to know if there are others willing to attend PPBC meetings.

I would also like to note that, while it is certainly very helpful to have visibility into what other boards are doing from direct observation, FinCom meets more often and longer than any other Town committee I'm aware of, and there is no obligation as part of anyone's FinCom service to attend the meetings of other boards in addition to the FinCom meetings, which I recognize can already be a serious burden time-wise for some.
