Accidental replies to all

OK, I have figured out what happened those couple times I accidentally did it, so I won't do it again.
Just FYI, if you are in the web interface to Google's GMail, and instead of clicking on "Reply" or "Reply All", you just click in the empty text box at the bottom of the message that's sitting there waiting for some nice textual reply, it AUTOMATICALLY does a "Reply All."
I guess if you want to be sure of what you're getting, it's best to click on what you actually want to do instead of assuming GMail will do what you're thinking.... I don't see an obvious way in "Settings" to turn this off. :-(
