We are going to stick with the original plan. We will cancel the posted meeting on September 24, and __not__ re-schedule it. We will try to get everything accomplished during the October meetings.
Thanks to everyone for your thoughts on this, it was helpful for getting a sense of where people are schedule-wise.
The main factor in this scheduling decision is that based on present data, we do not believe we will actually get real numbers on either Newman or the DPW building until mid-October. That will leave us October 15, 20, and 22 to discuss those two issues before STM. That in turn leaves us October 1 and 6 to go over the financing plan Dave Davison has developed and Town Hall. There are a couple other articles, like zoning articles, that are projected to be in there, and we'll try to handle those on October 1 and 6 as well.
In the meantime, we are, as you know, invited to the School Committee on September 17. I wouldn't expect this to be interactive -- they run a tight ship at their meetings in terms of audience participation -- but it should be interesting to see what they think their future cash needs are. When they come to a future FinCom meeting, that will be our chance to be interactive, and give us a chance to study it a while first to boot.
