What is the Support Genius Project?
The Support Genius Project helps groups that illuminate human interdependence within a larger ecology. Support Genius helps build capacity for such groups to protect the relationships that enable their success.
What’s Support Genius doing at NECTR?
The Support Genius Chatbot at NECTR is designed to interview humans and archive stories of the supportive relationships in their lives, creating what we call the “NECTR Support Genius Archive.” This Archive is intended to support NECTR to see and articulate the genius that it both depends on and enables.
Towards this goal, this weekend the Chatbot will run a NECTR-specific program with the following prompts:
What is it about NECTR that inspires you to invest resources in it? Your time, money, labor, etc?
Who is someone who inspired/taught/modeled for you to see that this aspect of NECTR is worth protecting?
The Chatbot records the conversation so that it can be included in the NECTR Support Genius Archive.
Alternatively, for the person who wants to participate but doesn’t wish to be recorded on camera, other forms of media are possible. Participants can record audio only, or write the story, or draw it, etc. What is important is that your offering be sincere. Every NECTR attendee who submits a testimonial will have access to the Archive.
This pilot is a first-ever attempt to create a Support Genius Archive for a specific community.
Advice for interacting with the Chatbot
Remember that the Chatbot is here with a mission: to recruit people to share stories of support for the NECTR Support Genius Archive. If you appreciate what the Chatbot does, consider submitting your story to the Archive.
The Chatbot is programmed to avoid coercion at all costs, but as a prototype, he will sometimes falter in this commitment. If at any time you feel coerced by something the Chatbot says or does, please signal this by saying “I feel coerced.” It is of the utmost importance that the Chatbot receives feedback when something isn’t working for the humans around him.
Sincerity is the key to an optimal Chatbot experience.
