Here's a first draft of the event map. Deadline for changes that will make it to the printed maps (posters/handouts) is Sunday Oct 5 6pm.

Changes after that may make it onto the electronic version.

If your camp/art/interactivity is missing, fill out https://tinyurl.com/NECTRMapRegister2025

If there's a correction, email m...@nectrct.com

A limited number of grayscale handouts are printed for the event. If you want to be sure you have one, or want one in color, print it yourself.

If your change doesn't make the print deadline, and you want to publicize your camp/art location, there will likely be a bulletin board somewhere (Bee Hive or Center Camp).

I was under the impression that Mercury would once again and henceforth be labeled as "Mercury Dr" 

out of respect to Dr Mercury. It's still shown as "Mercury Maple" on the map.

I'll put on whatever the consensus is. I've never heard of the re-naming you mention. Who was in the discussion that led to it?

There are some that would like Mercury's name permanently removed from the street names, so there are various feelings in the community about what to name that trail.

The right side says "leave no trace". The sinister left says "leave no trees". It's an acknowledgement of free will. The 10 Principles are just guidelines anyway.

About the street names... Mercury Drive became Mercury Maple when we switched to the tree themed street names. That's all. No drama, no interesting story, just a tree addition. And one of the signs says "Mercury Marle" because the volunteer making it got carried away. 😂

And yes, there are a few people who still hate him, even after he died horribly more than ten years ago. That's some pretty strong hate to hold onto.

I imagine that if some folks had bad experiences with him, being reminded of him every year, dragging back up all those memories wouldn't be a fun time. It doesn't have to be them holding on to 10 year old hate, it could just be that our map and signage are that sharp thorn in their sides every year, so they never can let it go.

Thank you Amy. We had 2 conversations about this (Dr vs Maple) in the past; 

one a NECTR last year and 1 on burn night this year. I didn't think it was a big deal at all.

..until I mentioned it here.

 I was completely ignorant of any drama.

..but I have been told I tend to see people through rose colored glasses.

Has that trail name been an issue since the beginning of NECTR?

The last time I saw Dr Mercury was when we were scouting out the current location for NECTR.

He died soon after and never got to see it come to be. 

I personally feel it to be a very fitting memorial to keep the name Mercury Dr in the future.

but I wouldn't want anyone to have to be reminded of a past trauma.

Did he assault or mind fuck someone?
