I saw this a few days ago, it truly is sad.  My stand after the LGBT round table and Derek’s excellent seminar, as I am sure all of ours remains a biblical “Welcoming but not affirming” one.

Hi Alexander

I have still not read the link but have chatted to the Dutch Reformed minister in our area. There are several points from the synod and it is a bit more nuanced that just - 'they have accepted same-sex marriages'.

Many of the churches and pastors are really struggling with this decision so we also need to support them. Each local church and Dominee is free to follow his conscience on this issue and is in no way ‘bound’ to perform same-sex marriages.

Point three of the synod is that they acknowledge the biblical view of marriage is only between a man and a woman.
The next point is that the synod will recognise gay ministers and civil unions.

I am getting more details but as I said their exact points have not been shared in the media.
