Thanks, Ke and Ning,

for organizing our first business dusiness salon last night succesfully. I enjoyed it very much.

Ke, Jishang and I discussed about setting up a small scale entrepreneur club following my conversation with Sean. The club member is a NECINA member entrepreneur. The mission of the club is to help memebers to grow their business using all NECINA resources, so that we will have more successful startup companies. We will meet regularly (monthly?) in round table format, with a speaker if we can find one.

We need to do a survey to identify those members who already started his/her company and in the process of starting up.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Best Regards

Harry

Subject: NECINA business discussion Salon

Hi,

Thank you so much for your interest to our first NECINA business discussion salon. It is a casual meeting for people with similar background and common interest. Thanks An Ning for making all the arrangement. We will meet at Far East Cafe tomorrow (9/19 Tuesday) at 6:45PM. The location of the restaurant is:

Far East Cafe
40 Cummings Prk
Woburn, MA 01801
P. (781) 935-7663

General topic of tomorrow's discussion is Entrepreneurship in China for Returnees. We are lucky to have several experienced entrepreneurs to share their perspectives on how to operate business in China. Especially thanks Dr. Jun Chang (常军博士), taking her to join us right before her trip back to China. Here is a brief intro of her and some of the thoughts she want to discuss with us:

I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow!

Best,

Ke

Ke and Ning:

Congratulations to the first business idea salon. This definitely
fill a missing color in our activity spectrum.

Mingsheng and I are doing some brainstorm as well. The major thinking
is to integrate NECINA conferences and seminars and group meetings to
have clear business strategies and come out some tangible results.
The "entrepreneur club" that Harry is working on is a good resource
for speakers to Ke's salon. Mingsheng and Lin are working on an
initiative to have an entrepreneur workshop to go deeper into the
technical and hands on level and hope can build up an environments
that entrepreneurs can meet with geeks, like when Steve Jobs met with
Steve Wozniak. Our larger scale conferences will bring boarder and
farther visions to the hot and, maybe more important, the potential
developing areas. We can invite one of the speakers of the conference
back to our business idea salons to explore further business
opportunities. We can also poke the big players of the technical
areas of our conferences, see if they can sponsor and provide some
seminar to talk about more detailed technical and skill topics. You
are more than welcome to pitch in your feedback and ideas.

Best,

Shen

Team,

I have been meaning to discuss with many of you one on one on some initial ideas of creating an entrepreneur workshop. It provides complementary values to our existing conference and SIG events, and aims at incubating successful start-ups within the NECINA platform.

This plan is in a very early stage and has the potentials of integrating with the business salon and Harry's initiatives. I will follow up with more updates shortly.

Thanks,
Mingsheng

P.S. I removed Jun Chang and "maple" from the mailing recipients as this is becoming an internal officer discussion.

Good idea.  I worry that the "entrepreneur club", "entrepreneur workshop", entrepreneur business salon" etc would have some overlapping and may confuse the outsider.  I hope later on once all things are in place, the complete picture will be clearer.

Look forward to it.

Regarding the project of having someone writes a book about NECINA's entrepreneurs, I have some suggestions and opinions, but that would be a different thread for a different topic.

Thanks,

Daryl
