Fellow RBAs,

We are looking for someone to take over disputed states for the American Explorer award. Could you publicize this to your riders, or maybe you know someone who might be interested?

What is the Dispute process and why?  The application for American Explorer says, "If you believe that RUSA has omitted one or more states from your personal list because one of your rides fails to account for that state, please use the dispute link to tell RUSA about it. When verified, RUSA will adjust its records and credit you with the additional states or territories."

This can happen when the route in the RUSA database linked to a brevet or other event is out of sync for when the rider rode the event. So it involves a little research for each dispute, which some may find interesting. It does not involve a lot of time per dispute, but there is a backlog of a couple dozen issues dating back to 2021.

Interested parties can contact me or webm...@rusa.org with any questions or offers to volunteer.

Thanks,
-john lee - for the Web Team
